MDR bacterial Infection in the blood stream

Henry Glitch

Bloodstream infections (BSIs) are a major public health concern; they are among the most serious nosocomial diseases, and they are seen as a global cause of untrustworthy outcomes, rising treatment costs, and diagnostic uncertainty. In intensive care units, BSIs are one of the most common deadly conditions (ICUs). Even with effective antibiotic therapy and/or source management, the outcomes are frequently negative in cases of septic shock, immunological weakness, and delayed treatment. Methods: This review paper covers the epidemiological and microbiological aspects of BSIs, with a special emphasis on ICU-BSIs, which are typically caused by multidrug-resistant (MDR) microorganisms. Antimicrobial resistance patterns and therapy possibilities have been compiled as a result. Results: 5–7% of ICU patients had ICU-acquired BSIs.
